C.N. Terrassa starts the Lliga Danfoss with authority against Sabadell

C.N. Terrassa opened the Lliga Danfoss WPA 26/27 with a resounding 15-1 victory over C.N. Sabadell. The match, held at Terrassa's pool, showcased absolute dominance by the home team from the first period. Jacobo Garrido Brun and Gustavo Correa Serra, both with four goals, led the offense in a season opener that leaves Terrassa at the top after the first round.

The game began with Terrassa setting the pace from the initial sprint, won by Jacobo Garrido Brun. The first home possession translated into pressure and, at 2:33, Jose Antonio Marí Alcaraz opened the scoring. Barely a minute later, Garrido Brun himself extended the lead. Sabadell responded with a goal from Albert Martínez Aguilera (minute 5:09), but the reaction was short-lived: Gustavo Correa Serra and Alex Sanchez Barquier, the latter scoring twice, made it 5-1 at the end of the first period. The timeout called by Sabadell at the end of the quarter failed to halt the local onslaught.

In the second period, the script did not change. Terrassa won the sprint again, this time with Jose Antonio Marí Alcaraz, and maintained the initiative. An exclusion of David Navió Pérez gave the home side a man-up situation, which they used to further extend their lead. Correa Serra, Garrido Brun, and Juan De Dios Navas Quesada scored the goals in a 3-0 run that brought the score to 8-1. Timeouts called by both teams did not alter Terrassa's dominance, who remained solid in defense and lethal in attack.

The third quarter once again started with a sprint for Terrassa, won by Jacobo Garrido Brun, who soon after added his third personal goal. Sabadell tried to reorganize with a timeout, but Alex Sanchez Barquier and Jose Antonio Marí Alcaraz continued to punish the visiting goal. The 11-1 at the end of the third period reflected a growing gap and Sabadell's inability to break through the rival defense.

Terrassa won all four opening sprints and did not concede a single period, signing off on an impeccable league debut.

In the final quarter, Terrassa did not let up. Garrido Brun once again prevailed in the sprint and Enrique Lupiañez Rivas joined the list of scorers. Gustavo Correa Serra, with two more goals, and Garrido Brun himself closed out the home tally. The Sabadell team, despite their efforts, could not break through Terrassa's defense throughout the entire second half. A home timeout with a minute to go served to adjust the final moments before the definitive 15-1.

Among the standout names of the match were the four goals each from Jacobo Garrido Brun and Gustavo Correa Serra, as well as the three from Alex Sanchez Barquier. For Sabadell, Albert Martínez Aguilera was the one who found the net, scoring the visitors' only goal in the first period. The difference in the partial scores (5-1, 3-0, 3-0, 4-0) underscores Terrassa's absolute control throughout the four periods.

With this result, Terrassa provisionally takes the lead in the Lliga Danfoss WPA 26/27 and will face its next challenge on November 28 against C.N. Barcelona. Sabadell, meanwhile, will look to bounce back that same day against the same opponent. The start of the league makes it clear that Terrassa is ready to set the pace in this new season.
